More flexibility, with less hassle

More flexibility, with less hassle

Making motorcycle finance simpler

We’re always looking for ways to make things better for our dealer partners, and a lot of those improvements come from listening to you.

We know that when you’re putting a deal together, the last thing you need is an extra step that slows things down.

That’s why we’ve made some changes to our motorcycle finance, giving you more flexibility and making it easier to get more applications moving.

We’ve removed the previous engine-size restrictions for motorcycles, meaning more applications can now go through without an additional review.

We’ve also made it easier to access terms of up to 61 months, giving you another option when helping your customers find a finance package that works for them.

More choice for your customers

Every customer is different, and the right finance option can make a big difference when they’re choosing their next bike.

A longer finance term can help spread the cost over a greater period, which can make the monthly payment more manageable.

Having that extra flexibility means you can explore more options with your customer and find a package that fits their needs.

And with the previous engine-size restrictions removed, more motorcycle applications can now move forward without an extra step.

More choice for your customers. Less hassle for you.

What’s changed?

Previously, some motorcycle applications needed an additional review depending on the engine size of the bike.

We’ve now removed those restrictions.

This means you can submit motorcycle finance applications without having to worry about the previous engine-size rules getting in the way.

More applications can now move through the process without an additional review, helping to make things quicker and easier when you’re arranging finance.

There’s no change to how you submit an application either. Simply use your Dealer Portal as normal.

What does this mean in practice?

If you have a customer who has found a bike they like, you can get on with the application without the previous engine-size rules being a reason for an additional review.

That could mean fewer delays, fewer things to check and less need to stop what you’re doing to find out what happens next.

Of course, our usual lending rules and individual assessment still apply, so not every application will go straight through.

But where an application can move forward without any further checks, it can now do so without the previous engine-size restrictions getting in the way.

Motorcycle finance up to 61 months

Alongside the changes to engine size, we’ve also made it easier to access terms of up to 61 months on motorcycles.

Longer terms can give you another way to put a finance package together, particularly where spreading the cost over a longer period could make the monthly payment more manageable for your customer.

For motorcycles, terms of up to 61 months are available subject to our usual lending rules and individual assessment.

There are a few things to keep in mind:

  • The motorcycle must have no more than 30,000 miles

  • The minimum advance is £4,000

  • Our usual lending rules and individual assessment still apply

The £4,000 minimum advance helps make sure longer terms are being used where they make sense for the amount being borrowed.

So, whether your customer is looking for their first bike, upgrading their current motorcycle or simply looking for a bike that better suits their needs, you have another option to explore.

More bikes. Fewer extra steps.

We know how frustrating it can be when you’re ready to put a deal together but an extra check gets in the way.

Removing the previous engine-size restrictions means more motorcycle applications can now move through the process without an additional review.

That means less waiting, fewer extra steps and more time to focus on your customer.

It also means you can have a more straightforward conversation with your customer about their finance options, without needing to worry about the previous engine-size rules.

Less stopping. Less waiting. Less hassle.

What does this mean for you?

Quite simply, more flexibility when putting a deal together.

You can continue to submit applications through your Dealer Portal as normal, while more motorcycle applications can now move forward without an additional review.

And if an application does need a further look, our team is still here to help.

We want to make things as simple as possible when you’re arranging finance, while making sure every application gets the right assessment.

Frequently asked questions

Have the motorcycle engine-size restrictions been removed?

Yes. We’ve removed the previous engine-size restrictions, so an application will no longer need an additional review simply because of the motorcycle’s engine size.

Can I get 61-month finance on a motorcycle?

Yes. Terms of up to 61 months are available on motorcycles, subject to our usual lending rules and individual assessment.

Why might a customer choose a longer finance term?

A longer term can spread the cost over a greater period, which may make the monthly payment more manageable.

It also gives you another option when putting a finance package together for your customer.

Is there a mileage limit?

Yes. Motorcycles must have no more than 30,000 miles.

Why is there a £4,000 minimum advance?

The minimum advance helps make sure longer terms are suitable for the amount being borrowed, rather than being used for very small amounts of lending.

Will every motorcycle application go through without a review?

Not necessarily.

The removal of the previous engine-size restrictions means more applications can move forward without an additional review, but our usual lending rules and individual assessment still apply.

Some applications may still need a further look.

Do I need to do anything differently?

No. There’s no change to the way you submit a motorcycle finance application.

Simply continue to use your Dealer Portal as normal.
